In the dawn of increased electrification for homes and businesses, a distribution network connection is becoming the gateway to taking advantage of new technologies and accessing emerging energy markets.
The Queensland Electricity and Connection Manual (QECM) and its predecessors have been a staple for electrical contractors connecting to the Energex and Ergon Energy networks for decades.
This year we are bringing you a new look to these requirements to better help our customers establish connections for this new and exciting future.
Reviewing the connection and metering requirements
We are seeking feedback from industry stakeholders on our plans to provide a new look framework and format to the QECM, to better clarify and align with modern connection requirements including dynamic connections. We are also seeking feedback on our proposed pathway to move to nationally aligned metering requirements.
